Another Hurrah For The True Finns

http://yle.fi/uutiset/finns_party_on_course_for_big_win_in_municipal_elections/6303619

The True Finns---calling themselves the 'Finns Party' now apparently for English-speaking consumption, looks likely to score a lot more representation at the municipal level in the coming election.  It has radically expanded the number of candidates that it has running and will probably do quite well.  This is, IMO, very important because it will both strengthen their power and client base and weaken that of their enemies.  The Finns party GETS demographic hegemony, and we here at the Chariot have tremendous sympathies in favor of any such parties.  Being solid on demographic hegemony makes me not inclined to care whether you're socialist or a disciple of Rand when your opposition is bad on that issue.
Existential issues, after all, pretty much by definition, trump pretty much everything but Deus Vult! issues.

I envy the True Finns the quality of their leadership

Timo Soini addresses the world in English regarding the Greek bailout.  He speaks to us like we're adults.  He clearly lays out the toxicity of allowing banks and corporations to socialize their losses while privatizing their profits.

Encouragement for our friends, the True Finns

http://mangans.blogspot.com/2011/06/american-ambassador-to-finland.html

Dennis has posted of the activities of the US's ambassador to Finland on his blog today. The True Finns should take this fool of an ambassador's scorn as a badge of honor. He compares you to the Tea Party, which is somewhat complimentary, but I think you're far better than that because you grok the existential nature of demographic hegemony. Not only that, you stood firm against bailing out the profligate nations of Europe at the expense of the short term political advantage that would have come from being part of the ruling coalition. When Greece and the rest of the PIIGs go to economic hell in a hand basket anyway, your wisdom will be vindicated and you will likely gain a plurality of the votes in your assembly.

I know it pisses off Americans when some foreign ambassador presumes to meddle in our internal affairs or criticize us, in whole or in part. Hopefully the same is true of your people. Perhaps this fool's quotes will make for good campaign advertising material for you. If he helps you get a working majority, I'll consider his salary well spent. Were he a covert reactionary with similar beliefs to myself, he could hardly have helped you more.

My good wishes for you are not totally altruistic. I recognize that if you sweep to power, that this will embolden and encourage similar efforts in the rest of Europe. And what is trendy in Europe affects the political landscape in my nation as well.

Hurrah for the True Finns

http://fourthcheckraise.blogspot.com/2011/04/those-proles-are-just-revolting.html While there are many issues I disagree with the True Finns party on, we agree on the existential ones, and I'm happy that the Finns have chosen to elevate their party considerably in the recent election. We agree on the following: 1) Demographic hegemony is an existential issue. It is THE issue. The True Finns wish to retain the hegemony of Finns over Finland. I support this and appreciate that they are stretching the Cathedral's malevolent energies on this issue. 2) We also agree on the fundamental question of government----Whose interests is the government of Finland constituted to defend and advance? The True Finns would say, well, the Finns. God bless them. Yes, the True Finns are in favor of a more lavish welfare state than I'd be in their place, and have some different economic ideas, but these issues aren't existential. If securing demographic hegemony for me and mine means I have to make concessions towards more socialism targeted at me and mine, well, so be it. The Chambers of Commerce should bear this in mind---if they want people like myself to be their friend on economic issues, they need to stop being our enemies on existential ones. Otherwise there's just a strong temptation to punish them with whatever coalition is available just for pure retribution.
